Abstract

A Currently the development of construction work is increasingly complex and sophisticated. The nature of the production process in the construction industry makes construction work dangerous and full of risks with high complexity that can lead to stress. Project managers are demanded in terms of mastery of new technologies, tighter time limits or, changing demands on work results, and changes in work regulations can create stressful situations. However, they are required to remain productive and optimal as a form of professionalism. This study will ex?mine the rel?tionship between job stress ?nd project manager performance. The purpose of this study is to determine the direction and significance of the rel?tionship between the two vari?bles. The population in this study were construction project managers in the Surabaya area with a sample of 23 respondents using purposive sampling. The test was carried out using SPSS 26 software. The data analysis techniques used in this study included validity, reliability, and correlation analysis. The results of the study show that stress and project manager performance have a strong negative relationship. Efforts to improve the perform?nce of project managers is to p?y attention to the work stress they experience.
